The mash culture blog that it curated by redezines received a user friendly face lift. The new site is developed and performs like the impressive Tumblr platform. Everything from the color scheme to content comes with a fresh take on blog life. Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think. Yesterday, Sunday, March 21st marks Twitter’s 4th birthday — exactly four years since Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey sent his first Tweet and, along with Evan Williams and Biz Stone, started a social media phenomenon. Last month, Twitter hit 50 million Tweets per day, and last summer it was announced that ‘Twitter’ would enter the Collins English Dictionary.

Recently Dutch creative agency Ubachswisbrun JWT took object marketing a step further for the holiday season, by actually making enormous cardboard boxes with Mini Coopers printed on them and bits of gift wrapping coming out of the top, then putting the boxes on street curbs for trash and public viewing. Sure to put a smile on anyone to pass except the garbage men.

‘When Driving Becomes Writing’ is two typographers Pierre & Damien of plmd.me and pro driver Stef van Campenhoudt collaborating to design a font with a car. The car movements were tracked using a custom software, designed by interactive artist Zachary Lieberman.

Maybe the most important web site ever put together on the internet is Brands of the World. Thousands of logos, in EPS format, available at your fingertips. Old versions, new versions, color versions, black and white versions. And all for free. As long as you check the “agree” box the download download click away. I am not sure how many times Brands of the World has saved me from clients that keep sending low resolution JPGs of logos.
Now owned by graphics.com — which parades Brands of the World with “more than 160,000 vector format brands and logos” and its traffic of “over 2 million unique visitors and over 30 million page views per month” — the site complete with a new contemporary logo. The logo isn’t really that great but, replaces the clip-art logo that we had grown accustomed to. Any which way here is to many more logo downloads!

If you don’t know already Dynamic Wraps a company I work for wrapped 2 jet skis for Zoo York. ZY Officials, Will Skudin, TJ Gumiela and Rob Brown, recently teamed up with big-wave rider Garrett McNamara and filmer Mike Cimino for some “slab” wave surfing in the frigid waters off the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Last week you may have visited the site and saw death by default. I experienced some technical difficulties with my hosting company and it all happened right before I left for business meetings in Chicago for Nimlok. So, I have been a little pressed to jump back online. Why not put more work on the plate, we’ll give the site a new look! It’s still needs some work but we’ll continue writing copy, fixing bugs and tweaking the design but for now, feast your eyes.
